Governing Data Sharing with Data Meshes
Data meshes provide organization, access control, and a way to structure your data ecosystem according to business domains or functional areas.
When to Use Data Meshes
When you need to organize data products by department, domain, or function
When you want to implement different access controls for different groups
When you're implementing a domain-driven data architecture
When you want to separate development, testing, and production environments
Viewing Available Meshes
Navigate to the Home page
The main panel displays your available data meshes as green hexagons
Each mesh displays its name (e.g., "CONSTRUCTION", "DEV MESH")
The "Hosted" label indicates meshes hosted in your environment
Creating a New Mesh
From the meshes view, click the blue Create Data Mesh button
In the Data Mesh Editor, fill in:
Name: A descriptive name for your mesh
Type: Select "Owned" or "Shared"
Description: Details about the mesh's purpose and contents
Purpose: Explanation of the business purpose for this mesh
Accountable Person: Contact details for the mesh owner (name, role, email)
Click Save to create the mesh

Accessing a Mesh
From the meshes view, click on a mesh hexagon to access it
The mesh detail page will open, showing the mesh name at the top
You can toggle between "Mesh" and "Create" tabs
Use the Landscape button in the top-right for a visual overview of your mesh
Mesh View Options
Once inside a mesh, you can:
Use checkboxes to toggle displaying data sources and data objects
Use the search function to find specific elements
Click on elements to view their details
Deleting a Mesh
Access the mesh you want to delete
Click the "Mesh" tab at the top
Navigate to "Actions"
Select "Delete"
Confirm deletion when prompted
